BOX OFFICE IS OPEN FOR UP YER BUM CABARET SHOW!
Up Yer Bum Cabaret Show is BACK! November 2018

With 2011 being our inaugural charity Cabaret show taking place at Madame JoJo’s (London) on 25th September, called (aptly) “Up Yer Bum” we have held another two shows in London since.
The Acts were amazing quality, the compere was great fun and the event was such a success that we ran the event again a number of times. Sadly, the venue was closed down so we went on “sabbatical”…
However, having lost a young friend, Ben, to bowel cancer recently his wife Nicola was happy for us to resurrect Up Yer Bum, so after finding some amazing patrons we were able to book the Hazlitt theater in Maidstone (Ben’s hometown) for the 17th November 2018 to put on the show again, how apt!
All Acts for previous events have been kindly donated by some smashing people who were willing to give their support, time and talent to a good cause.
We can’t afford to pay acts, but do give them lots of publicity and can offer official charity thank you’s for resumes and biscuits and lots of teas/pop/vodka etc . Each act tends to present a couple of times (one in each half of the show) but this is flexible.
Following Ben’s and our own experiences of bowel cancer, we are keen to raise awareness, with both the general public and GP’s, about the disease, symptoms and treatment options and hope by hosting the “Up Yer Bum” Charity Cabaret it offers a fun way to raise awareness and to provide entertainment in the process.
It is through such events that their vital work can continue, helping to beat the UK’s 2nd biggest cancer killer.
Funds raised go directly to Bowel Cancer UK to support the work that they do
Quizes!
We often hold local quizzes for charity – keep an eye on our Facebook events page to see if there are any coming up!

The ShortHop & East Malling Beer Festival 2017
We were delighted to be chosen as the nominated charity for the ShortHop, the social club for NIAB / East Malling Research Centre. Throughout the year the social club put on activities to raise funds for charity and we were co-located with them at the East Malling Beer Festival in Sept 2017 – ironically raffling off a bottle of Champagne!
With the help of a couple of willing volunteers (ok, dragged family in to help!) a cute dog and an even cuter 9 year old we raised over £150!
Street Collections & Marathons
You may occasionally see members of the team out in Kent (and Essex!) collecting for charity (permits provided. Except once we left the permit at home, and did have to go back and get it!) and this is often supporting marathons. So far we have supported 3 marathons: Berlin, London and Paris for Beating Bowel Cancer, now part of Bowel Cancer UK.
If you would like to run a marathon for the charity see here: https://www.bowelcanceruk.org.uk/support-us/fundraise/running-events/
Boom Banger Rally – Kent to Africa in 5 days. In a banger! April 2015
A Banger Rally is the challenge of taking a car which has seen better days on a journey to fulfill it’s destiny!
It’s not all about being behind the wheel though, we passed by and stopped at some amazing places, there were numerous daily challenges, (and plenty of opportunity to party the nights away!) At the end of it all there were new friends and plenty of stories to dine out on… a road trip like no other that we’ll remember for the rest of our life.
Have a look at the Marrakech Express that we did – we certainly recommend it. It is harder than you think (days are timed!) but worthwhile and not only can you raise money for charity you can also win it!
Crossing the Sahara on foot
This was a trek of a challenging 100km through the awe-inspiring Sahara Desert! From flat desert floor scattered with ancient fossils to perfect wind-blown sand-dunes, and salt-pans creating strange mirages, the trekking was diverse and demanding. A vast, unforgiving landscape, the desert was a truly beautiful place to discover, while the incredible star-strewn night skies are unforgettable. Trekking through the Sahara was humbling and life-changing; everyday life back home felt a million miles away! Accompanied by Berber guides and camels, we pushed on through the blistering 40degree + heat, interspersed with nighttime camp-fires and Berber singing. Oh and sand storms and collapsing tents!
Climbing Kilimanjaro
When celebrating the 5year clear mark, it was decided it was to be done in style. BY CLIMBING A BLOODY BIG MOUNTAIN!
3 of us rashly decided to climb the highest freestanding mountain in the world! (Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain on the African continent at 5896m)
Led by an amazing Commander, who took us all in her stride and dealt with us in personal ways to get us through our journey – she is an utter ledge and a hero of mine.
This is a challenging trek at altitude, and not everyone made it to the summit. It involved a very taxing terrain and conditions , often with extremes of temperature, (heat to snow) at altitude which has very weird effects on the body. This tested our stamina and perseverance to the max., but we made it! We climbed one of the most impressive mountains in the world.
Hats off to Commander Jo for the encouragement
