Welcome to our site which gives you a bit more information about who we are, what we do and why we support bowel cancer patients, families and friends, support groups, the medical profession and charities such as Bowel Cancer UK and CRUK.

Keep in touch to see what we are up to lately to raise awareness of bowel cancer and lynch syndrome – in the form of fun events and awareness campaigns.

The story began in 2005, feeling “not quite right…”

What went on?

Here is a brief on the bowel cancer journey once diagnosed in 2006, aged just 29: 1 in 4 video

Spending 12 years fundraising and being part of the bc community was great for the body and soul.

October 2018 saw the second bowel cancer diagnosis, aged 41. Due to having lynch disease (more about that later) drastic action was taken. Instead of a bowel resection, the whole large bowel and rectum was removed (along with the womb and ovaries for good measure) and a permenant ileostomy installed.

Having had first hand experience of the disease, the UYB team want to be able to offer support on those dark days and take something that is scary and make it a little less daunting.

By arranging fun events not only do we strive to fund raise to help provide expert information and support for everyone affected by bowel cancer, but to bring communities together and create hope that one day we will beat bowel cancer together

Don’t die of embarassment
