Today is #WorldCancerDay. Who are you and what will you do?
World Cancer Day takes place on 4 February and is the global uniting initiative led by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC).
The idea is to raise worldwide awareness, improving education and harnessing people power to reimagine a world where millions of preventable cancer deaths are saved and access to life-saving cancer treatment and care is equal for all – no matter who you are or where you live.
Today demonstrates a positive movement for everyone, everywhere to unite under one voice to face one of our greatest challenges in history.
This year’s theme is ‘I Am and I Will’
It is about you and your commitment to act. Together, through our positive actions, we can reach the target of reducing the number of premature deaths from cancer and noncommunicable diseases by one third by 2030.
So whether you tweet or Facebook, or actually chat to people, please talk. Lets lessen the fear and speak out together to stand up for a cancer-free world.
